All I Want Is….

February 9, 2013

You say you want
Diamonds on a ring of gold
You say you want
Your story to remain untold

But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

You say youll give me
A highway with no one on it
Treasure just to look upon it
All the riches in the night

You say youll give me
Eyes in a moon of blindness
A river in a time of dryness
A harbour in the tempest
But all the promises we make
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

You say you want
Your love to work out right
To last with me through the night

You say you want
Diamonds on a ring of gold
Your story to remain untold
Your love not to grow cold

All the promises we break
From the cradle to the grave
When all I want is you

You…all I want is…
You…all I want is…
You…all I want is…
You…

Oh, what a lovely tune for the course of my day ahead. I’ll find a bit of gratitude for he-who-lovingly-does-it-all and hug the stuffings out of him. Of course he’ll wonder what’s up with that–but I’ll just smile and know who and how i ended up in the hugging mode.
Bit of a humbling moment of course, I give too little appreciation to the one person who’s had to deal in this fine mess for 8 weeks–more if you count me just being the ME that I am. *laughing* You can well guess I’m a hand-full!
So–I now have a new tune for the day and a bit of a mission.
    🙂

    I like it!
(here’s hoping it’s a “mushbucket day” for you as well! LOL)

      good morning/evening Mel,
i didn’t sleep last night…again. i am very weird with the sleeping lately. i have no idea what’s up but have never believed i should “try” and sleep. it feels funny. if my body can’t then should i take something to make me sleep? anyway i am so glad you liked but how can any woman not like, right? 😉 you mention he’s been there for you for 8 weeks and you know that mine has been here since i was 16 years old. i wasn’t always sick but never very well. this past decade has been more down than up and he’s been here all the time. i am not a very easy patient as i am sick of being sick and when things get worse and worse and and, well you can just imagine, right? now with the two new things, well four new things…i give… haven’t done a thing about any of it but mope around the bed actually. :/

so for the mush bucket, i am not quite ready for that, i don’t think. and he’s not either frankly. 🙂 we’ll see… xoxoxo

It’s a nice song even though I never was a fan of U2. The sentiment about appreciating those who love us in spite of us being who we are is profound.

ah really? the reason I’ve always liked them is. because the lyrics are always intelligent. like there’s a brain in the bunch…turns out there’s lots of brains in the bunch but anyway. this struck my fancy at 3am so….. be nice to sleep once awhile! xox

    Good morning Dear Linda~

What a faaaaaaaaaaabulous song! I truly love his voice – there is something so raw and beautiful about it.

And I must ditto what Susancrow shared….

“The sentiment about appreciating those who love us in spite of us being who we are is profound.”

    SO profound!

Thank you for sharing this today, dear friend!

Sending ya a HUGE Reiki hug………

  5. That’s so funny. I just downloaded this song at 4.30 this morning, along with the most of Rattle and Hum! And then I see it here. it’s a lovely song, most of theirs are. I haven’t listened to their stuff for years. Makes me feel young, you know? I too, can’t sleep lately. Not at all last night, and I’m off to go for a drive then a walk on the beach with Bella. I think it’s the creative mind that keeps us up? Also, I find that the air is clearer at night; it’s pure and silent and peaceful, and I can breathe better. maybe that’s why your’e up?

wow, that is weird. great minds thing alike!! i will have to check out the rattle group. i adore U2 still and am looking forward to their new one next year. i like they don’t pump out mindless garbage like most. and the lyrics have always spoken to me. and remind me too of another time and place. maybe it is the night time quiet and clearer air. for me some of it is habit but it’s getting worse. some is inactivity because i don’t feel well and so don’t move much. some is i need to be taking a whole ambien not a half like lately. that’s when the problem got lots worse. today i can hardly breathe again. got an app for air quality around here and discovered some unpleasant facts, like everyday it is SOMETHING! geez…xoxox

Well, I’ll join the up at 3am crowd! Troubles of my own making–rolling over was an unpleasant experience and with howling winds–I figured a bit of ‘up’ time would be a good plan. Right. 3am is a bit like 3pm–only darker! 😉

Yikes, I’m going to hope for a FEW peaceful moments for you. Sounds like you could stand a puppy cuddle and a good dose of warm sunshine. Maybe a bit of time on the patio with a blankie and a good cuppa java if the air’s conducive for a fresh breath. NOT so do-able here with the snow and wind howling–but boy, if I could, I would! Gray days just keep right on happenin’….. Oh yes, it IS winter! LOL

3am thinking (dangerous at an hour….LOL) left me with a few ideas on how to spend the day. I’m dangerous when I have too much ‘think’ time. 😀 I love it!! LOLOL
