Celtic Cross

Celtic Cross (credit: ilovebutter)

“Beannacht / Blessing

On the day when
the weight deadens
on your shoulders
and you stumble,
may the clay dance
to balance you.
And when your eyes
freeze behind
the grey window
and the ghost of loss
gets in to you,
may a flock of colours,
indigo, red, green,
and azure blue
come to awaken in you
a meadow of delight.

When the canvas frays
in the currach of thought
and a stain of ocean
blackens beneath you,
may there come across the waters
a path of yellow moonlight
to bring you safely home.

May the nourishment of the earth be yours,
may the clarity of light be yours,
may the fluency of the ocean be yours,
may the protection of the ancestors be yours.
And so may a slow
wind work these words
of love around you,
an invisible cloak
to mind your life.”

    1. L`Adelaide says:

ah, thank you rebecca. you are so kind. ♥

  2. That sort of thing always awakens a weird and tingly little race-memory in me….in a book I loved as a child, the busy working mice ask the contemplative, poetic one, “why aren’t YOU working, Frederick?” and Frederick answers, “I AM working. I am gathering sun rays for the cold, dark, winter days.” Thank you, Linda, Gatherer of Sun Rays.

      Dear Camilla,
I don’t think anyone has said anything to me that is quite so meaningful. Thank you deeply. xox

I adore Anam Cara ~ and did not bring it with me on my trip ~ so THANK YOU LINDA ~ this was sooo needed and sooo special my sweet friend of the soul — I am sending you heaps of Love today and Always ~ x Robyn💝

    1. L`Adelaide says:

Yes, I do believe we are…I am so glad it fed your soul. It seems you’ve been gone so long now…I hope you are finding what you seek, my friend. xxx

      1. Robyn Lee says:

yes – it did ~ have had a rough couple days… seems I make progress and then slip back doubly… the body cannot find center — trying to stabilize by pulling out joints wherever it can. So feels like I just got here… surreal. I don’t think we will do more than touch the tip of the iceberg in 4 weeks… but don’t want to live here either – learning a lot though ~ becoming more convinced of the neuromuscular control being key. Hard tedious work though ~ don’t see many choices ..Love to you ~ and hope you are doing better — what is going on with Lead and Flu? xxoo

        1. L`Adelaide says:

robyn, it sounds so difficult to keep your spirits up…. you are doing well considering how challenging it is for you. it also sounds very painful. still out on the lead except have to do chelation because of the numbers aren’t low. mid teens+-frnakly he won’t tell me til he sees me other than it’s too high and all my kids have to be tested as well. flu is still hanging out, not leaving and not getting worse….depression is a larger battle just now…i get tired as i am sure you understand. xoxox and keep up that brave fight.

Oh wow……..what gorgeous words. And what a beautiful photo of the Celtic cross, but it was the music that wheedled into my being this morning. What a lovely piece–it warms my soul and makes me breathe a bit deeper.
I don’t know the history or the author, the composer or the driving force–but the poetic-ness and the blessings of colour are welcomed and embraced.
What a lovely thing to gift me this morning.
