Take this Heart And Make it Break

Take this mouth Give it a kiss ~

Take these shoes
Click clacking down some dead end street
Take these shoes
And make them fit
Take this shirt
Polyester white trash made in nowhere
Take this shirt
And make it clean, clean
Take this soul
Stranded in some skin and bones
Take this soul
And make it sing

Yahweh, Yahweh
Always pain before a child is born
Yahweh, Yahweh
Still I’m waiting for the dawn

Take these hands
Teach them what to carry
Take these hands
Don’t make a fist
Take this mouth
So quick to criticise
Take this mouth
Give it a kiss

Yahweh, Yahweh
Always pain before a child is born
Yahewh, Yahweh
Still I’m waiting for the dawn

Still waiting for the dawn, the sun is coming up
The sun is coming up on the ocean
This love is like a drop in the ocean
This love is like a drop in the ocean

Yahweh, Yahweh
Always pain before a child is born
Yahweh, tell me now
Why the dark before the dawn?

Take this city
A city should be shining on a hill
Take this city
If it be your will
What no man can own, no man can take
Take this heart
Take this heart
Take this heart
And make it break

  1. …and here I was listening… Wow……one heck of a delivery they make. What powerful lyrics……

    • Bono is genius in a human package, in my estimation. One of my favorites, but that might be obvious since i must post them once a month. their lyrics always have something to say and he uses his fame in ways i respect. some wish he’d keep his mouth shut or claim “he’s only a rock star”, but i think his heart is in the right place and he’s willing to step out and make a stand. i respect that.

i’m happy you enjoyed this piece. one of the lesser known ones but the first time i heard it, it blew me away. 🙂

      • Dunno a lot about the man or the band–but I know bits of this song and how can you not have chills listening to the crys to Yahweh?
Definitely worth listening to again this morning.

Very cool listen at sunrise, I might add.

        • Very late night greetings, Mel,
I am late here tonight. Isn’t it good? When I first heard this song, I was listening to the CD in the car on my way to my therapist. This was at the end of it. I didn’t need my therapist after hearing it a few times. I set it to repeat and listened all the way home… I am touched you were also “touched”. Sleep well, dear heart, I hope that tomorrow leads to a little more healing for you. I’ve another consult with a different oral surgeon but am feeling quite mellow about him. I’m hoping it’s a good omen and not so horrid as was the other one…. yikes.

  2. Beautiful thoughts always. Love your photos and your postings. Rlte

    • hi Silvia,
I was happy to see you here this morning. I hope my new comment settings help you leave comments here on the blog and by the fact you are here, maybe it worked? did you have any trouble this time?

thank you, dear one, for your kind words. they are offerings to my friends here. I count you as one of them. XO

  3. You’ve taken me away – beautiful!

    • Mary,
I’m so glad you were able to enjoy this small offering this morning. my postings are so erratic, i always think i should keep a schedule that is predictable but it’s impossible given “me”…

i am always happy that my offerings are enjoyed and felt in the heart. thank you for your kind comments~XO

  4. Oh Yes. There is a road from the soul from where great love and understanding are spit forth for us to catch.

    • Gretchen,
This is some of the most beautiful imagery I’ve read on the great universal energy that is Love with a capital. “Spit” forth for us to catch is exactly how it seems. We have to be watching to catch it, no?

Thank you, Gretchen, for this and for your lovely comments here. They are much appreciated. XO

  5. Thank you, from my heart to yours.

    • hello valentina… i am doing ok, awaiting another consult on the looming oral surgery. how you be? i haven’t seen you around and haven’t been able to figure out where you are blogging now. i just followed you on your newest, i think. 🙂

      • LOL… Went away on a long vacation! I’m Ok. My sister will go under surgery this Friday, therefore, will disappear for a couple of days. 😉

I’m glad you’re feeling Ok. Aaaaah, yes. Teeth and molars are a huge nuisance once they start to hurt. Tell me about it.

        Night, sweet one!

  6. Concentric rings of energy, radials flowing outward/inward and places where the energy flows upward/downward into and out of the earth. The old stone circles seem to mark, harness, amplify and, indeed, shape three or more dimensions of energy – the dance of Nature’s cycle.

It was a lovely song to hear tonight.

    • good evening susan,
I am so behind tonight and yet, i was trying to keep up on blogs, trying to be more organized with it. I was supposed to post something tomorrow, i so brilliantly told myself. tonight i don’t remember what that draft was… i think i do but… maybe tomorrow i will let it fly out to the universe in those concentric rings upward into the ethers. 🙂

Isn’t it a lovely song? One of my favorites… Sleeping well, I hope… Off to bed go I.
