  1. Good thing for me to remember….I can get into that ‘poor me’ thinking fairly easily now a days. Dangerous place for me to go.
Loved the video. It’d been a long time since I’d heard this one. And I’m sorry you’re having sleeplessness……sucks. *sigh* If I only had a magic wand…….

    • hi mel,
yes, i saw this and well, all the others by them and had a hard time choosing frankly but this seemed appropo… when you find that wand, let me know where you found it. 🙂

  2. Holding your hands tight my great friend, love to see your colours sing to such a great song.. x

  3. A few nights ago I began re-reading (for the third time) a book that continues to amaze and teach – even just a few lines can stop me in my tracks. This is the one that got me on page 4 or 5:

The mind creates the abyss; the heart crosses it.

    Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
    ‘I Am That’

May you be well, my dear friend.
    xoxo

    • hello dear… that’s a beautiful quote… and it is certainly true and despite my knowing the truth of it, i seem to find myself stuck on that bridge to crossing it. haha, one just keeps moving, i suppose… get to the heart eventually. i think i shall see if that book is available. i could use it. xox

      • There’s a universe of difference between knowing and ‘knowing’. I spend most of my time on that bridge too – Zeno’s perhaps, that one we can only cross half way and half way again, never to find the end. Nisargadatta’s talks to his followers cut through our muddy understandings with pointed statements that shock with sudden realizations. It took me five years to read the book the first time and three years the second. In the meanwhile I took up Tibetan Buddhist meditation in order that I could slow my busy mind enough to understand what he says at a deeper level than I was able to previously. We both know it’s not an easy road but every step is a revelation for the heart.

        xoxoxo

        • ps: I should clarify my interest in Nisaragadatta by mentioning that true Advaita requires a strong master/disciple relationship. Since I knew I wasn’t going to have one of those I chose a meditation path that has much written advice about how to proceed and what tricks our minds can play on us.

          • i was very fortunate to have had that for so many years.. this sounds very similar to the “cutting thru” teachings in buddhism, vajrayana. without a teacher, you are basically screwed… one MUST have someone to point out ego’s delusional thinking because we are so attached to it. it’s quite a journey, one i am blessed to have taken and one i still continue tho my teacher has long since passed away. one never dies in that relationship, another amazing teaching that isn’t. what i learned ultimately was “the bad news is i’ve fallen over the cliff and the good news is there is no ground”. wise trungpa at his ever-lovin’ best… 😉

i found the book and have ordered it… it’s sitting in my shopping cart as i write. i hope all is well back there in this icy weather. i have a disgusting flu bug…again.

  4. Great pairing of quote and music. I do enjoy Dorothy L Sayers!!!

Here is one of my favourites:

“Do you find it easy to get drunk on words?”

“So easy that, to tell you the truth, I am seldom perfectly sober.”
― Dorothy L. Sayers, Gaudy Night
